Helena Street Bridge

I love this old bridge and wanted it restored as well. Dayton government want it down and replaced because they do not want to pay someone to restore it because it costs too much which I feel is probably not true, but do not have the facts. Might not be replaced for a while as city does not have infrasture money,i.e bridge replacement, but we will wait it out. Going to be replaced with two spans instead of one. It really has the coolest design I have ever seen.

And by the way...Replicating the original railings on these spans would restore the missing view of the river!

A beautiful bridge with some wonderful decorative elements

I just visited 8 historic concrete bridges in South Bend, Indiana (many of which are older than this one) and they have ALL been restored and maintained!

If they want to design something then they need to design a restoration!
