There is an abandoned bowstring bridge in Caledonia, OH just north of town in Marion County. I beleive it is a WIBC bridge. I don't know if there are plans to move this bridge or not.
I've got you covered J.R.!
I'm working with the Mayor and town administrator to try and locate a Bowstring truss from Ohio. Incidentally, I need to change the status of this bridge which no longer exists. The good news is that there is another Bowstring in Highland County!
BRAVO! Mayor Pape!
While I live in Wisconsin and have no clue of how to help you, I just have to applaud you for your foresight to preserve history in such a historic setting. (I do know of a couple of through-trusses here that you could probably get for a song.)
Mayor, the world needs more elected officials cut from the same cloth.
We are looking for another historic bridge for the Village of New Bremen to span the Miami Erie Canal. We already have one restored bowstring and we are looking for another for pedestrian traffic and it will also serve as a local scouts Eagle project. Does anyone know of the availability of the Oak Grove Rd. bridge in Highland county and the possibility of us adopting it?
