This is gone now, a new bridge built

This bridge is scheduled for demolition and road widening. Project starts March 14, 2011 and is scheduled to complete in November 2011.

This is a nice looking stone overpass. Unfortunately, if City of Columbus is calling the shots with this bridge it is highly unlikely it will be preserved, given their track record.

I had heard that this bridge was going to be torn down. I have lived near Alkire Road for most of my life and would hate to see it go.
