Jaite Railroad Bridge

Beautiful old truss built by the Baltimore & Ohio railroad, and currently owned by the Chessie System express-rail service (CSX). track and deck removed by CSX in 1978. would absolutely be a jewel in the rails to trails system. hopefully a lease can be worked out with the railroad. and why wasn't the Jaite Paper Company compound (helltown) preserved by our all-mighty National Park Service??

Wow! A beautiful and perhaps extremely old railroad bridge. It has corrugated v-lacing (aka ribbon lacing), and other unusual connection details as well as attractive portal bracing.
