St. Mary's River Pedestrian Bridge
Posted February 21, 2021, by Paul

Contrary to a previous report, this interesting little bridge is very much still here, or at least it was as of August 2018 when I took some measurements and photos. The bridge is 70 feet long, not counting the stairways, and the trusses are 7'3" in height and 5' wide, measured from center to center of beams. The clear width of the walkway is 4', and it is approximately 20-25 feet above the river. It is a very utilitarian but very interesting structure with its open grate deck, steep approach stairways, steel bent supports, and impressive (for a northwest Ohio pedestrian bridge) height above the St. Marys River.

Photos taken in August 2018.

I went through St. Marys the other month and this bridge has been removed. Growing up in St. Marys, I crossed this bridge many of times!

To help you along in your decision, here is a similar example to what I think is an "add worthy mob" that you mentioned. Checkout this: http://bridgehunter.com/in/clark/bh45573/
