A very long Pratt truss! Nice restoration, but no signs or plaques explaining it's history.

Hoosic River Bridge
Posted June 19, 2015, by Cynthia Blakemore (cynthiablakemore [at] gmail [dot] com)

This bridge was determined eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places during the survey of all bridges conducted by the NYDOT. There were decorative finials and the plaque with the date of construction and builder. I believe these were removed possibly by the County when they intended for it to be demolished.

Will the decorative iron work be restored (and the makers plaque) when the structural work is completed?

Also, some members of the community are wondering what is really happening to the bridge. Can you let them know via this page?

This bridge is slated to be converted to a pedestrian bridge in 2015. A new vehicular bridge to be built parallel to it.

Does anyone know the status of the bridge in Johnsonville that has been closed since October 2013? There appears to be no work being done as of May 2014.
