As a child I remember this bridge which we called the rhumble bridge. it was constructed with a steel grid roadway surface (presumably to reduce weight as it was a lift bridge). As my Dad's car drove over the tire noise made a distinctive noise... a "rhumble".
I also recall that the Buffalo River was the most polluted river I have ever seen!
