There were 3 other bridges of similar construction on this rail road line. One was a Pierson Ave in Edison, the second one was for King George Post Road in Edison, Crows Mill Rd in Fords and Florida Grove Rd.
They all the the distinction of being set on fire by kids and vandals thru out the 1970's thru the 1980's. Their timbers soaked in creosote and tar, they would burn for a very long time. The bridge on Pierson was a single lane bridge with a sign that read "blow horn" before crossing. this bridge was removed and the roadway was leveled out. The bridge on King Geo post Road was replaced as were the other two.
