This is the only bridge that connects Hatteras Island to the mainland of North Carolina (Cape Hatteras), via adjacent islands. The bridge is located within the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.

Replacement bridge set to open within days per NCDOT. Existing structure will be demolished except for 1000' on the south end of the inlet for use as a fishing pier.
