This bridge is on a section of Route 66 that was bypassed early enough that it was not modernized, so the bridge and the road to it are still in nearly original configuration. Sometime in the last 40 years the road got a blacktop wearing surface but it has not been widened and the original curbs are still visible. There are still remains of tourist cabins and other buildings from the early days of US 66.
