As of today, this bridge is still SBNO. The deck is in terrible condition, but it doesn't appear anyone's in any rush to do anything about it. If they decide they don't want it anymore, I've got plenty of room for it in my back yard!
I have been wondering about this and other bridges in SE Missouri. I understand that the flooding has been severe in this region.
Any update on this? I love this little bridge!

As far as the date of construction, I might go out on a limb and guess about 1900-1912. I have not checked county records, so I am just basing this based on the general appearance of the bridge. Date of construction could potentially be late 1890s, but probably not newer then about 1912.
I visited this bridge on a whim Friday morning and was delighted to see how well they keep the wooden deck maintained on it. It has a posted 6-ton limit, though none of my friends at home seem to want to touch it with a ten-foot stick. Does anyone have a clue as to how old this bridge is?
The deck on this bridge is beginning to crumble away as it stands unused. I visited it this past Sunday on bicycle, and it's still passable on foot or bike, but it's so sad to see it closed to other traffic. Can't something be done?
