I worked the train derailment when the original truss bridge collapsed about 1981 - Secrest Emergency Service out of Tulsa, OK. I remember it pretty well - it was the only bridge collapse/derailment we did. We fished several railroad cars out of the river. I do not know if that bridge was repaired or replaced by the current bridge.

Floated under this bridge last tuesday. It appears that the below comments are correct, and the current bridge is indeed in the location of the original.

Mr Rice Clifton Parish was the gentleman that cut the stone for the original bridge. His old dairy farm is still in existence in Noel and there are a few house on it that he cut all the stone for and built. l

If this is the bridge I think it is, it has been replaced bya plate girder bridge with the tracks on the deck. The through truss has been gone for some time, though I'm not sure how long. I moved to Siloam Springs Ark in 2007-about 35 miles away-and go here frequently.

Replaced by plate girders, with new piers placed midway between original piers. This is on the KCS main line.
