National Avenue Railroad Bridge
Posted June 4, 2009, by Greg Hall (cyclebay [at] aol [dot] com)

There are actually two bridges here side by side (can see in the photo). It is possible that they are not the same age, though the builds appear similar. It would reason that one (or both) were originaly built in 1926, as the other bridges along this main route (and within a few blocks) show a 1926 date. This bridge appears to have had new concrete over the original to provide a "fresh" appearance. I suspect that the build date was covered when this was done. It is further possible that National Avenue was widened at one point and that these were widened during that project, though I cannot remember it. I do remember the Glenstone bridge being widened 35-40 years ago, if I remember correctly.
