Is the Ferry operating now( August-October)2012 from Route J to go to the Riversedge Restaraunt?

Was at the Riversedge Resturant right at the ferry tonight. Was told the ferry has been closed for about a year.

We tried to use the ferry on August 5, 2011 and it was not running. Is it not running because of the high water? It was pulled up onto the ramp on the Fredricksburg side.

The ferry is open Sat. and Sun. only for the month of October. After that it will be closed for the season. It will reoopen in March for the 2011 season.

The spring was wet and had alot of water, which slowed the full time opening of the service.

It is now open Wed tru Sun 7am - 7pm. This is weather and water conditions permitting. The fee if $4 one-way $6 roundtrip. You can inquire by calling 573-294-1114.

Just wanted to let everyone know, the ferry is up and running. We just used it on 05-29-10 for a float trip. Very friendly and helpful for our trip.

May first, the Ferry is running!! Was there and saw it. Now, the business IS for sale!! But it's open, 4 bucks to cross!

After several years of unsuccessful attempts to sell the ferry, and the death of one of the principals, it dropped to weekend only service in 2009 and appears not to be returning to service in 2010. Their phone goes straight to voicemail, and nobody returns messages. So after 125 years of service, it may be finished.
