I also wanted to mention that the picture which contains the abutment of the old bridge, is taken from the deck of the current bridge. Route V was a gravel county road at the time the old bridge was in use, and when the current 1961 bridge was built, the entire road was paved, and turned into a state route. The current bridge flies over the flooplain for the most part, although the roadway 1,000 feet to the south of the bridge will still flood at times.
I drive over this bridge all the time, and I'd like to know how come the deck condition gets such a poor rating. the deck is PERFECT. There is not the smallest pothole or anything on it.
