Black Bridge
Posted February 9, 2015, by Rosemary (Andersen) Schaffer (rosemaryfrmn [at] webtv [dot] net)

I grew up playing on and under this railroad bridge in the 50's. My best friends parents farm had the rail road going through part of it, and the farm buildings where on the edge of the gorge that the bridge crossed, like about 500 feet from the bridge to the pig house. We walked across the bridge when the water in the river was too high to wade across or ride our horses across. The gravel road that went under the west end of the bridge is still there and used by residents along it. It was, when I was young, a place to park for teenagers----lot of beer parties under it, too.

There is a picture of the Black Bridge on the Jackson County Historical site and it's FaceBook page.
