"The Ferris Road Bridge is [was] one of the few riveted, connected Warren truss highway bridges with double angle truss members surviving in Michigan. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
"This documentation was undertaken in April 1987 in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement agreed to by the Gratiot County Road Commission as a mitigative measure prior to the demolition of the bridge."
