Description

This bridge is exceptionally significant not only for its unusual hybrid of truss configurations but also for the fact that the swing span is still hand-operated with no motor. Four bridgetenders, two standing on each side of the central pier, reportedly work together to open and close the bridge. However, bridge openings appear to be quite rare.

Rocks Village Bridge

It's a shame that they didn't add a sidewalk on this bridge when they rehabilitated the bridge in 2013-2014... it sure would be nice to walk out on the bridge but except during bridge openings (which seem to be rare), there is too much traffic to walk on the roadway.
