Thank you for all of these contributions, Brian! Interesting to imagine a movable span at this location. Back then the area was buzzing with the logging industry, and I can see how bold innovators imagined making the Little River navigable to the Black and Mississippi rivers.

The flooding last year appears to have destroyed the western approach. I'll add photos when I have the chance later today.

Well. I THOUGHT I created a page for it. I stand corrected. I could've sworn I made a page for this bridge already. My apologies. I'll upload my pics of the bridge for this page.

No. You are mistaken. The bridge you have mapped on THIS page is already listed here on the website and I posted pictures of it. I didn't know the name of the former rail line, so i named it LA 500 rail bridge. Your mapped bridge is the same location as the bridge page I created a few years ago. If you intended to list a DIFFERENT bridge then check your coordinates and location.

No, it isn't.

Perhaps you are confusing this bridge with the lift bridge on the same railroad line that crosses Little River at Archie, which is downstream/east of here.

This bridge is already listed on the website. This is a double post. Someone should merge the two pages.
