Description

Sitting high above the Pond River, this bridge featured unusual pony truss approaches on either side. The ends abutting the through truss featured conventional diagonal endposts that sat on Lally column piers, while the approach ends featured long bedstead endposts. Several bridges with this configuration were built in Tennessee by the Nashville Bridge Company and the American Bridge Company. It is possible one of those two firms fabricated this structure.
