This bridge is scheduled to become a part of the Western Sky Trail, a short 18-mile long Rail-Trail between Fredonia and Chanute. The trail is still in the planning phase.

This bridge carries the Southern Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad over the Verdigris River approximately one mile southwest of Benedict, Kansas. The location, though unincorporated is known as Benedict Junction.
