It is possible Art, the only Bedstead I know of from 1879 or earlier is this one:

Pic #14 of this WIBCo. shows what could possibly be a casting from the same form... Assuming that this one is also from that firm.

Considering one of the pictures shows what appear to be bits of the builder's plaque with a number 79, could we assume the build date is 1879?

Made a little mistake on this one, there is three Spring Creek bridges in the area, I had mixed up the photos previously, these are the correct photos now for each.... apologies. Just to clarify this one does in fact exist and is blocked off at the moment either for repairs or for replacement - plaque on end of bridge looks as if removed, lots of interested cattle just next to this bridge. Neat oooooold pony.

Shucks, looks like Republic County is replacing its ponies. Maybe we can save some...
