Approaching from the south

As of late December 2014 the project appears complete. This bridge and the Limit Street bridge are gone with a new bridge on Limit Street built to the south of the former bridge. The new bridge is much closer to the historic railroad arch which is now very easy to see and appreciate.
Thanks for the update. I am glad that the important bridge will be retained.
Removal of Limit street rr overpass began today. The stone arch will remain.
There will be a haunched slab concrete bridge built south of the arch on 2nd St. My job plans dont specify whether the arch remains or is removed after traffic is on the new bridge. I will get clarification on the arch bridge.
The modern rail bridge is doomed as is the 2nd Ave roadway bridge. The old brick arch bridge does not appear to be included in the project.
There are at least two historic stone/brick arch bridges on this abandoned rail line in Leavenworth. It sounds like the only bridge that is in danger demolition is this 19 seventies structure.
There's an arch bridge right next to the bridge over Fivemile Creek, so that's likely the arch Clark is referring to.
Am I missing something? The description lists this as a deck girder, there is mention in the forum about a concrete arch... but the photo shown on this page is quite clearly of a pre-stressed concrete adjacent box beams type structure.
With the rail line abandoned the city plans on improving the geometry of the intersection. Plans here on page 5:
The old arch bridge seems safe and may have improved visibility to the public.
I am scheduled to begin demolition of this bridge later this month.
