Abandoned UP - Stranger Creek Bridge
Posted October 13, 2016, by Nick Schmiedeler

Received permission today from the property owner and he took me down to see this old abandoned railroad line bridge. Very impressive piece of engineering, built 1902, great survivor, beautiful shape....will last another 100+ years. 6' walls on this thing....amazing, beautiful.

Union Pacific Stranger Creek Bridge

Originally on the former Lawrence to Leavenworth, KS branch line of the Union Pacific railroad. From what I read online, this line was pulled up and abandoned sometime in the early 1980's. The UP depot is still standing and preserved in downtown Tonganoxie.
