Nick,
Could you shoot me an email. I have some stuff you may like. Not being from around there, I am not going to be the best with directions. However, I can give you a google earth map that I use.
Yeah no kidding, Robert. John I would love to check those out...anymore specific directions? Thanks!
That is encouraging. Makes me wonder what else is lurking out there. Some of the bridges that have been discovered lately have been complete surprises.
Nick,
I have another stone arch listed east of here near the intersection of N 2050 Road and E 850 Road. In addition, I have stone arches listed just east of the railroad bridge at Eudora, and a double stone arch over Wolf Creek near Wellsville. I don't believe any are currently on bridgehunter. Happy hunting,
John
Easy jaunt over to Kaw River/RR tracks in Lecompton, KS to check on this old RR brick bridge. Great masonry.
Nice. Very similar to the ones in Leavenworth County. Douglas County has very few historic bridges of any kind, so this is an especially nice discovery.
Yeah, I look forward to seeing what you find.
