Description

The Shoals Bridge was the next downstream from the Huffman Mills Bridge and was constructed 2 years later also by W.T. Washer. It suffered some damage from flooding in 1967 and was replaced with a deck plate girder that was likely obtained from another location, possibly from a railroad bridge that was no longer in use. The original cut stone abutments from 1865 remain in use.
