I am the pony truss bridge. I am speaking through James McCray using telepathy, and other awesome stuff you probably cannot understand yet. Anyway, please do not worry about me. I am still here and am doing well. Now go about your day and be thankful. As for me, I will still be here for you to visit me anytime.

I visited here the other day myself. The road north of the bridge is gone! But otherwise the bridge remains.

Yes, I have heard that the 3-span pony is safe. So hopefully all is good!

Good news, all! I am not sure of where Mr. Lee's article is referring, but the Indian Creek 37 bridge is still alive and well, sitting all nestled away in thick vegetation. I am assured by locals that this bridge is to be converted into a bike/walking trail. Stay tuned for more at a later date! (the picture was taken today, 9-9-20)

I will check into it. A Concrete pony girder bridge north of Martinsville was recently removed for I69. Hopefully that is what was talked about (Old 37 Crooked Creek Bridge)

This article says that a pony truss bridge on old SR 37 was recently removed. The article is not specifically about this bridge but it does call the bridge out.

Only pony truss bridge I know is this one. :-(

I don't know what is going to happen with this bridge once I69 is finished. It runs nice and close. My brother ran a buggy and off-road shop just to the south of it (until recently) and said he had heard that Martinsville had stopped it's demo and was going to make a large trail using it. Hope so. Now if they would put the Burton Lane Bowstring into the mix, THAT would be excellent!

Does anybody know why this bridge is slated for demo? My Google-fu is turning up nothing.
