C&O Railroad State Road 124 viaduct [Map] Lost Concrete deck girder bridge over State Road 124 on former CSX Transportation (nee Chessie System, Chesapeake and Ohio of Indiana) in PeruRemovedAnother bottleneck to get past, you had to make sharp turns to pass under the bridge as SR 124 switched from one side to the other of track. Deck and girders removed but Concrete abutments remain. Area completely bypassed by new SR 124 alignment.
C&O Wabash River bridge [Map] Lost Deck plate girder bridge over Wabash River on abandoned CSX Transportation (former Chesapeake and Ohio of Indiana Railroad) in PeruLostPart of the C&O's line from Chicago to Cincinnati, the bridge had two extreme curves on both side approaches and was removed after line was abandoned in late 80's or early 90's. Piers & abutments remain.
County Road 750 North Weesau Creek Bridge [Map] Slab bridge over Weesau Creek on Cr 750nOpen to traffic, poor shape with possible imminent collapse.Built 1930; rehabilitated 1983. Currently in poor condition with concrete falling and supports exposed. County officials fear it could collapse. This is a dead end road with 6 homes on it. Possible replacement could come 2013.

Eel River/Vandalia Railroad bridge South Yorick Drive [Map] Abandoned steel stringer bridge over unnamed ditch beside South Yorick Drive on Formerly Conrail(nee Penn Central, Pennsylvania Railroad, Vandalia, Eel River, Detroit and Eel River Railroads) in DenverAbandonedRail line was abandoned in 1977. Rail line must have had a siding here as bridge is set up for two tracks, but rail line was a single track operation running from Logansport to Butler, Indiana.

Currently filled in with Elm still going over. Built to avoid delays when the once busy doubletracked Panhandle/PRR trains would come to town. Station beside bridge and there was stairs down off bridge to tracks.

Nickel Plate IMC County Road 100 West underpass [Map] Timber stringer bridge over County Road 100 West on Nickel Plate Trail soon, formerly Norfolk Southern (nee N&W, Nickel Plate Road, Lake Erie and Western, others), north of DenverOpen as part of Nickel Plate Trail October 2010Once part of the "IMC" division of the Nickel Plate Road running trains between Indianapolis and Michigan City. Abandoned in 1999, and railbanked. Indiana Trails Fund got ownership, later Nickel Plate Trail group, and converted into a trail.

Nickel Plate Road Prairie Ditch bridge [Map] Lost Timber stringer bridge over Prairie Ditch on Nickel Plate Trail(former Lake Erie and Western, Nickel Plate Road, Norfolk & Western, Norfolk Southern Railway, Central Railroad of Indy, Indiana Hi-Rail Railroads) in PeruDestroyed by fireThis wooden bridge carried the former IMC division of NKP Railroad from Peru to Michigan City and was the start of a large grade in Northern Miami County. Arsonist burned the bridge in the 1990's and it was quickly abandoned. Charred pieces remain.

Pennsylvania Railroad State Road 218 underpass [Map] Lost Concrete deck girder bridge over State Road 218 and creek on abandoned Conrail (ex- Penn Central, Pennsylvania Railroad) in Bunker HillLostFormerly 3 tracks went overhead of the Pennsylvania RR's Columbus line from Columbus to Chicago. SR 218 made a tight turn under this bridge which was later straightened when bridge was removed.

Later N&W Railway bought both lines. Later successor NS abandoned the NKP line, but Wabash line still sees dozens of trains a day.
