Contract Special Provision for May 2015 Letting:



The existing bridge has been declared historic. The existing truss superstructure is to be dismantled by the Contractor and then transported to an offsite storage facility. The truss will become the property of the City of Anderson. The offsite storage facility is located at the City of Anderson Street Department, 550 Dale Keith Jones Road, Anderson, IN 46016.

The Contractor shall develop a plan to match-mark and map the components of the truss for future use.

The large truss components shall be supported on wood blocks or railroad ties at the storage facility. Small components shall be placed on wood pallets. All components shall be covered securely with tarpaulin material if located outdoors.

I have heard that the city of Anderson may be using this bridge for trail use.

This bridge is scheduled to be replaced within the next 2 years....it will be dismantled and put on sale for anyone interested in it.
