Description 

Indianapolis Bridge Company won the bid at a cost of $3,000.00 The bridge was replaced in 1923 with an early state highway design Pratt through truss that featured a long concrete causeway at one end. It in turn was replaced in 1990.

The Indianapolis Bridge Company would cease operation later in 1885 after building some 300+ bridges in just 3 years. This is the first evidence of them building something other that a Pratt or Whipple truss. Their successor, the Indiana Bridge Company of Indianapolis, would go on to use this same design on at least two extant spans in 1886 and 1887.
