None taken my anonymous friend!
I meant no disrespect.
I wondered myself if this little slab might not be older than the NBI date given, but probably no way to verify for sure. I would have likely never searched for this bridge, but it was located on a dead-end road that my son's former girlfriend lived on. I figured I might as well snap a couple shots of it for posterity's sake.
I have always used a 50 year guideline for considering a bridge to be historic...and going by the date given this one just made it.
It's my guess the 1959 build date late by 30+ years. It's pretty typical of stuff built near the beginning of the auto boom.
This is not a UCEB because it has stood for 53 years and still is 90% sufficient. 8^P
It's concrete, not nearly as attractive as an arc or a truss, nondescript as any other slab. What are the qualifications for an UCEB? Why is this not one?
