This is actually a railroad bridge converted for road use. It is steel with wood approaches on either side. This is located at the once busy Anoka Junction of the Pennsylvania RR where two lines came together which meant heavy train traffic.

Canal opened Logansport up for trade, but this aqueduct played an important role in crossing the Eel River on it route from Toledo to Evansville during the mid 1800's. Canal was abandoned in 1876.

This was once part of the Chesepeake and Ohio of Indiana Railroad's line from Chicago to Cincinnati. Supposedly one of the most photographed bridges along the C&O route, but I haven't found any evidence to support that claim.

IUT Traction Company(later Indiana Railroad) went under the double tracked Panhandle(Pennsylvania RR) before arriving at the Wabash River and soon Logansport. Abutments are still there, bridge filled in and WSRY still runs the line overhead.

This simple overpass of a county road is unknown today as bridge has been completely removed and approaches are undistinguishable today. Railroad was abandoned in 1968. Road is straightened out through this area today.

This rail line has quite the storied history of many owners, abandoned about 1968 or sooner, about a mile around this bridge was made into a paved trail. Bridge deck replaced completely. I am not sure if timber pilings remain from original.

Long removed, US 35 and US 24 dual lane highway cross over this location on a fill.
Built probably by interurban so this pioneer county road could get across, was also a station stop for interurban. Today US 35/24 go thru here on fill and no traces remain of old bridge.
