Can someone copy over the article and pictures or post it in the news section? I'd rather not fill the forum with it.
Sincerely,
Art S.
Sorry everybody. It has been replaced with... rocks? Thursday's Bloomington Herald-Times had an article titled "Goodbye, Yellowwood Road", subbed 'After almost 30 years of plans and protests, state forest's neighbors forced to face loss of their rustic, rutted roadway'. Will get pix asap.
Not sure when the collapse happened, but as of March 2016 a large portion of the decking had collapsed down into the creek. See photo.
Please Preserve the Iron Bridge !!!
yeah it was a accidental find because you really can't see it on google earth and i was driving and nearly drove into the creek. But yeah i actually knew about this bridge after i seen it because i had camped at yellowwood before and i fished off the new bridge. that was nearly ten years ago.
I had some pics of this bridge from about 6 years ago that I lost when my computer crashed (and before I knew about this site). It was bad when I saw it then......but you are right, it looks like the end is near. Glad you visited it and got some photos before that happened J.P.
think this bridge only has a few years left before it collapses into the creek
I drove by this one a few times...
The way-too-heavy concrete deck was falling off of it, but the trusses were in pretty good shape... Would have made a nice trail bridge somewhere!
