Cowden Bridge

My dad told me a woman he works with said this bridge no longer exists. We thought nonsense since we had been there shortly before he was told this. My brother and I were out and about one day so we decided to check it out. Sure enough, it is gone. Rumor has it that some guy recently bought the land and pulled the bridge out to scrap it. Total disappointment as it was a peaceful place to visit and go hang out at once awhile.

The bridge in the picture is the 3-span Shelbyville bridge on Illinois 16, it was lost in 1975.

I saw this on a website, whether this bridge is the one in the photo or not, I can't tell. No location is given by this website: http://www.shelbycountynews.net/default.asp?sourceid=&smenu=...
