The postcard says "Ferry Landing, Meredosia, Il" at the bottom. And the bridge in the background is the old railroad bridge that was removed after a new bridge was built downstream at Valley City.

I think the ferry in this view might be the one owned by W.W. "Bill Cook" of Valley City Illinois. His ferry operated from Phillips Ferry / Griggsville Landing from 1888-1938. I have seen other views of it.
