Meredosia Bridge

Keep in mind the Seneca Bridge http://bridgehunter.com/il/la-salle/seneca/is going to be demolished soon too. The Illinois River is getting hit hard.

I did photo-document the Seneca Bridge earlier this year, I just don't have the photos online yet. The weather was horrible (mist/light rain and 40+mph wind) but I did get full photo-documentation of the bridge.

The need for me to photo-document all surviving historic bridges on the Illinois River is quite apparent.

Imagine that!......A cantilevered span being targeted for demolition!! (His voice dripping with sarcasm)

Meredosia Bridge

IDOT wants to replace the 74 year old IL-104 bridge on the Illinois River at Meredosia, IL IDOT's still deciding if the new bridge will be close to the current bridge on the current alignment of IL-104 through town, or just south of Meredosia on a new bypass that would have to be built if IDOT decides on this option.

This bridge is slated to be torn down and replaced possibly with a bridge and new route that will by pass meredosia altogether.
