You can still see the remains of the lock just off shore from the marina
This wood brige was built in 1870 and removed in 1933 after a barge impacted the swing span pier. From 1933 until the present bridge was opened in 1935 residents traveled across the river on a ferry. The lock and dam were built in 1871 and in service until 1927 when the dam was removed.
