Description

Elliott Johnson found this nice little 5-panel through truss while driving on nearby Montezuma Road. It sits abandoned in a farm field with no evidence of a road having lead to it, so it may have been moved here off of a county road for private use.

I haven't gotten an editors account yet but I have many more pictures of each bridge I investigate but when I comment, I can only upload 5 or 6 at a time so I try to post the more generalized pictures first.

Tony, which struts are you looking at when you say "they appear to be paired angles that fastened together with battens"? The struts I see are V-laced channel.

Ah. I see. The sway brace struts. I can't really tell from the pictures...

More - and more detailed - pictures please! *smiles*

Yeah, Tony.

Your page has the pictures, so I deleted mine.

Verticals on this little through truss are "sideways"...King and a few other firms sometimes did that.

The struts are rather unusual as they appear to be paired angles that fastened together with battens.
