This bridge is now closed to traffic. I havent seen any equipment headed towards it yet so i assume its still standing but probably not for long.
From the IDOT June 17, 2001 Letting:
Project consists of the removal of the existing single span truss bridge on closed abutments and construction of a 159' 6" long, 27' wide three span precast, prestressed concrete deck beam bridge (21" depth) on spill thru abutments and pile bent piers, aggregate approach and all other incidental items to complete the work on TR 56, 0.8 mile northwest of Fricklin over the Kaskaskia River; includes 392 units tree removal; 1,393 cu yds earth and channel excavation; 2,346 cu yds furnished excavation; 98 lbs temporary erosion control seeding; 1,522 ft perimeter erosion barrier; 722 tons aggregate base course; removal of existing structures; 4,266 sq ft precast, prestressed concrete deck beams (21" depth); 5,560 lbs reinforcement bars; 699 ft furnishing and driving steel piles; 110 ft pipe culverts; 377 tons stone riprap; traffic control and protection; Federally funded;
