Joliet Rd Des Plaines River Bridge
Posted February 22, 2015, by NE2 (neroute2 [at] gmail [dot] com)

The original bridge here was built in 1925 but not connected until 1928: http://books.google.com/books?id=tsABp_iXNrEC&pg=PA43

The 1928 (surveyed 1925) topo shows it existing but not yet connecting to anything but an unpaved road on the east side; IL 4 (predecessor to US 66) uses Lawndale Avenue to get from Joliet Road to Ogden Avenue.
