Attached you will find photos of the bridge and the significant erosion of the portal. Too bad its been undercut by flood waters- wonderful bridge.

Looking closer at satellite imagery, it appears like there has been severe erosion on the SW bank of the river around this bridge, with the river channel now cutting into the SW abutment. This is likely the reason for the bridge being closed.

After dining at Rube's Steakhouse in Montour, I found a picture on the wall of the bowstring over thr Upper Iowa. It was gone but the man said it was replaced by this bridge. My friend Mike and I went bridgehunting....
