This temporary lift bridge belongs in the category of vertical lift bridges. This bridge is a post truss constructed after a icy flood storm of an older swing span bridge destroyed it then Modjeski and his crew acted very quickly by constructing this temp lift span. The Bridging Urban America is a film documentary of Ralph Modjeski and his career of designing and building bridges.
