A Canal

Klamath County, Oregon
The “A” Canal is the main diversion canal for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation’s Klamath Basin Project. The canal begins its course at the intake station on the south shore of Upper Klamath Lake in the northern part of the City of Klamath Falls. The canal then runs in a generally southeast direction through Klamath Falls where numerous small bridges cross its course. The canal diverts into many sub-canals providing he farmers of the Klamath Basin with much needed irrigation water four such crops as alfalfa hay, barley, oats, potatoes and wheat.
