Pedimented portal bracing

View Exhibit map

Typical portal braces are flat on the top and the bottom. Pedimented braces retain the flat bottom, but top slopes to a peak in the center. Floor beams and sway braces can also be described as pedimented. This category features bridges with this rare form of portal bracing.
