Bridges added to this category are ones that have credible historic documentation as having a haunted reputation (bridge said to be haunted in book(s), magazine articles, historic documents, scholarly essays, and the like. Generally, any bridge can be called "haunted", as with the case of many bridges in the South, but for a bridge to be listed as haunted in this category the bridge needs to have suitable credentials.

Sketoe Bridges (Dale County, Alabama)
First bridge (wooden) built during or before Civil War and replaced by current old bridge (abandoned stringer bridge) probably during the 1920's. The current old bridge, although left abandoned in place, was replaced by the new bridge in 1976.
