Big Bend Tunnel (Summers County, West Virginia)
built from 1870-1872 by C&O RR to cut off Big Bend. Legend/tradition names this tunnel as scene of 'Steel Driving Man' John Henry's race with steam drill
Original tunnel built to bypass an 8 mile long bend in the Greenbrier River. Passes between Hilldale, and Talcott West Virginia.
Intact but closed to all traffic

C&O Pipe Creek Bridge (Grant County, Indiana)
Once part of heavy duty rail line from Chicago to Cincinatti and points East. Line cut back and this section from Amboy to Marion still survives. Formely carried Amtrak's Cardinal and James Whitcomb Riley passenger trains until 1986.

C&O Railroad Eel River Bridge (Cass County, Indiana)
This was once part of the Chesepeake and Ohio of Indiana Railroad's line from Chicago to Cincinnati. Supposedly one of the most photographed bridges along the C&O route, but I haven't found any evidence to support that claim.

C&O Wabash River bridge (Miami County, Indiana)
Part of the C&O's line from Chicago to Cincinnati, the bridge had two extreme curves on both side approaches and was removed after line was abandoned in late 80's or early 90's. Piers & abutments remain.

Formerly double track railroad bridge, looks like it is currently single track setup, sans rails as line has been abandoned for about 20 years or more. Scene of a C&O derailment in 1925 as well.
