Future prospects
The bridge is intended to be demolished once sufficient funding is found due to concerns about seismic sufficiency. This project proposes to replace the existing bridge with a two-span, boxgirder bridge on spread foundation. Construction of new superstructure should allow more vertical clearance and meet the current vertical curve design speed. Replacement of the railing with architectural barriers and construction of new approach guard rails will need to meet State Historic Preservation Office requirements.
