Red River Bridge

The bridge the current Highway TX8 / AR41 bridge replaced a very similar steel stringer bridge. Its supports had suffered some pretty significant scour and immediately after the 1990 flood it was hanging in the air with neither end actually touching. It was likely built in the late fifties, early sixties, but I can't remember a through truss structure there. I looked at a 1954 Texas map and I found a "toll ferry" there.
