Bride was torn down today. http://www.kait8.com/Global/story.asp?S=14271320
I am searching for historic records of the bridge and historic photos because a community group that is trying to save the bridge may need to take the route of putting the brige on the National Historic Register at some point. If anyone out there has more information about the building of the bridge, please respond to me. Thank you for your help.
is haunted looks as if train is about to hit you before it goes under the bridge Credit to: http://www.theshadowlands.net/places/arkansas.htm
This bridge is currently closed for repairs after a vehicle accident. The BNSF, which owns the bridge, says it will repair it and have it open within a month or so. Although the wooden structure will remain virtually the same, plans are in the work to build a concrete structure somewhere near the current bridge. (www.kait8.com)

Visited this all wood wonder on Wednesday, July 9, 2008. This bridge is in terrible condition! Floor especially needs to be replaced; found several large holes in it and the railing is also bad. Makes alot of noise when you drive across it, even when you walk across! Bridge easily photographed from all directions and underneath. This bridge is definitely unique; no steel in this relic at all except for the few nut-n-bolts holding it together and some old iron cable on the railings. Bridge suppose to be maintained by railroad.
AHTD and BNSF have announced plans to build a new bridge to be completed in 2017
