Brief history:

Written by J Randall Houp

Original railroad trestle was built at this location in 1906. Sits in the middle of what use to be Graysonia, Arkansas at that time one of the largest lumber mills in the south. The Gurdon & Fort Smith Railroad was built to transport lumber from this location and several others along the line. Not long before the current railroad shut down several railroad trestles were repaired and completely refloored, This trestle has an all new deck. Just north of this trestle ran the Antoine Valley Railroad, owned & operated by the Graysonia mill owners. Sits at bridge mile marker #453.8. Fascinating area!

Train tracks are gone now. Someone has bought up Grayson and have ruined what is left of the town.
